Tinbie x Larkin Litter - Week 4

Another week of many changes! This is an important week for "litter training" as they instinctively want to go to the bathroom away from where they sleep and play. When they first wake up, they move towards the front of the pen, so that is the best place for us to put their litter trays. At the beginning of week four almost half of their pen is litter trays because they can't get very far before they pee, so this increases their chance of success. Once they start to get the idea, we can reduce the area of litter trays, which we were able to do towards the end of this week. By the end of this week we were getting about 90% of pees and 100% of poops in the litter trays in their pen. Success rates are bit lower when they are free in our kitchen, although they are getting better at seeking out a litter tray and using it there too. We have litter trays all over the place (and wood pellets everywhere!). But it's worth it in the long run.

The other big event this week is starting on some solid (well.. mushy) food. With their teeth coming in, they were making it pretty clear that they were ready. The first meal was a huge success and they even managed to eat without making too much mess.
